Celebrating 10 Years of Success

Since our founding Friends has:

  • Created the Literacy Center Program in 2001 serving 80 first through fifth grade children and 25 area teen tutors each year.
  • Funded cultural outings for over 400 first through twelth grade children.
  • Provided adult English as Second Language classes to 20 students a year for the last 10 years.
  • Donated books, resource materials and over 300 computers.
  • Provided advocacy and referral help to families dealing with legal and social problems serving about 200 families a year since 1995.
  • Provided free tax preparation to over 100 families a year since 1996.
  • Sponsored quarterly legal aid clinics attended by approximately 90 individuals a session since 2001.

Thank You!

Friends depends on a large number of very dedicated volunteers who contribute over 2700 service hours each year. Without their support, Friends could not even begin to serve the approximately 850 individuals who turn to us for help.
