Scholarships

In 2000 to combat the discipline problems, low test scores, and low motivation in the neighborhood schools, Friends awarded $22,500 in scholarships to 20 promising local students thus helping them attain a quality education in a safe environment and improving their chances of attending college.

We currently fund $55,570 40 in scholarships to 48 grade school students and $66,800 in scholarships to 44 high school students. Whereas only 52% of the high school seniors attending  the local public school  graduated, all of our last years high school scholarship seniors went on to college.
